It works as mentioned. Ctrl+Z will open series of tabs you have closed.

You can just use "CTRL + SHIFT + T" to reopen closed tabs, you don't have to use an extension

It simply didn't work, and used too much RAM. Pressing ctrl-z had no response. Clicking on the "C" icon and picking "Ctrl-Z Reopen Closed Tab" did NOT return the most recently closed tab. Instead, it goes to the Ctrl-Z Reopen Closed Tab extension page. Also, oddly, in Chrome Memory Manager, this extension OFTEN doesn't show up in the list, even though it's enabled! When it DOES show up, it uses 35-40 MB of RAM! That's very excessive for something as simple as this. I tried restarting Chro... Show more

Being a Mac user, I was SORELY missing the CMD-X key to reopen the last closed tab. This did the trick! But as Davel Liu pointed out, the remap needs to get smart and not open the last tab when the browser focus is in an input field in a web page/form.
