CryingBird Proofreader lets you select text on any page and, from the right-click menu: 😭 Proofread — fix grammar, spelling and punctuation while keeping tone 😭 Rewrite — polish text for clarity and fluency 😭 Humanize — remove telltale AI-writing patterns (adapted from academic-humanizer, MIT) 😭 Translate — to your default language or any language on your custom list 😭 Custom prompts — up to 3 user-defined actions with editable titles Highlights: • Bring your own key (BYOK): OpenAI-compatible APIs (OpenAI / OpenRouter / DeepSeek / Ollama / LM Studio…) and the Anthropic Messages API • Multiple LLM profiles, one-click connection test, model list loading • "Apply result" writes the output straight back into editable fields • Automatic retry (up to 3 times) with clear error toasts • UI in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English and Japanese • Privacy-first: no telemetry, no developer server; settings and API keys are stored only in your browser's local storage Note: this extension requires your own LLM API key. Selected text goes directly from your browser to the endpoint you configure — no middleman server.
