-=- Cookie management, the way it should be. -=- Crumb Sweeper puts a single, configurable button in your toolbar that does exactly what you tell it to. Pick a default action — or open a popup that lets you choose every time. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Clear ALL cookies in the browser, instantly. • Clear cookies set in the last N hours (recent-window is fully configurable, 1 to 720 hours). • Clear cookies for the CURRENT TAB only. • Open a popup with all of the above as buttons — pick per-click. LIVE BADGE A small badge on the toolbar icon shows exactly how many cookies the next click would remove. The refresh interval is configurable. Turn it off if you'd rather have a clean icon. AUTO-CLEAR ON TAB CLOSE Forget sites the moment you leave them. Two scopes: • Domain allowlist — curate a list of sites that get their cookies wiped when their last tab closes. Subdomains are covered automatically (one entry for "example.com" covers "mail.example.com" and "www.example.com"). • Every closed tab — aggressive mode for the privacy-conscious. Adding a site is a single click in the popup: visit the page, open Crumb Sweeper, hit "Add example.com to auto-clear." Sessions on still-open tabs are protected — if you have two tabs of the same site open and close one, your session stays intact. BUILT FOR THE ENTERPRISE Every setting can be locked by an administrator through administrative policies: • Windows Group Policy / registry • macOS configuration profiles • Linux managed-policy JSON • Chrome Browser Cloud Management Managed fields are visually marked in the UI with the same building icon Chrome uses in its own settings — users see exactly which controls are enforced and by whom. If a policy is later removed, each user's prior choice silently resumes; Crumb Sweeper never overwrites user preferences with policy values. PRIVACY BY DESIGN • No accounts, no sign-in, no servers. • No telemetry, no analytics, no remote calls of any kind. • No content scripts injected into web pages. • Settings sync over Chrome's own storage.sync — no third-party servers involved. • Manifest V3. THEME-AWARE ICON The toolbar icon is a clean, minimal cookie silhouette that automatically follows your system's light or dark color scheme so it sits naturally next to Chrome's own controls. The extensions page and store listing show the full-color cookie. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED • cookies + host access to all sites — required by the Chrome cookies API to list and remove cookies for any domain. Cookie data is never sent off-device. • storage — saving your preferences and the local creation-time map that powers "clear recent." • alarms — local scheduler used to refresh the badge counter. • tabs — knowing which tab is active for "current tab" mode and tracking URL changes for auto-clear on close. • offscreen — a hidden helper page that detects your color-scheme preference so the toolbar icon can adapt. Crumb Sweeper does NOT request webRequest, webNavigation, debugger, content-script host access, or any networking permissions.
