Overview

Hide, blur or dim keywords, images and page areas on any site. Decoy pages, site lock and camera sentry for shared-screen privacy.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🛡 CrispGuard · Privacy for the screen other people can see ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Your screen is not always yours. An open-plan desk, a train seat, a café table, a shared presentation — anyone standing behind you can read what is on your screen. CrispGuard covers exactly the part that should not be seen, on any website, in one keystroke. Everything else stays usable. No tab hopping. No closing your laptop when someone walks over. No choosing between the thing you are reading and the person next to you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎯 WHAT IT COVERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ KEYWORDS ✓ Type a word and every occurrence on the page is replaced. ✓ A solid black bar, a colour, or an emoji — your choice. ✓ Salaries, client names, ticket numbers, order IDs, addresses. ✓ Works in paragraphs, tables, list items and input fields. ✓ Smart detection can also catch phone numbers, emails, ID numbers, bank card numbers and currency amounts without a keyword list. IMAGES ✓ Swap photos and thumbnails for a clean placeholder. ✓ Seven placeholder styles: shield, cloak, tent, bubble, blanket, seal and curtain. ✓ Hover the small preview, pick a style — it applies immediately. ✓ “By rule” mode learns which images to hide: pick one image for an exact match, pick several of the same kind and it extracts the common prefix. <img>, srcset, lazy-loaded images and CSS backgrounds are all recognised. ✓ Rules are stored per domain, and can be reused across your domains. AREAS ✓ Drag a rectangle, an ellipse or a horizontal line over any part of a page. ✓ Blur it, mosaic it, fill it with a solid colour, or hide it completely. ✓ Blocks stay where you put them as the page scrolls. ✓ One button clears the current page; one keystroke clears the mode. SPOTLIGHT ✓ Dim everything except a circle, a window or a scan band that follows your cursor. ✓ Read one paragraph while the rest of the page stays unreadable from a distance. ✓ Circle radius, rectangle size and band thickness are adjustable. BLUR ✓ Soften the whole page in one keystroke; one more brings it back. ✓ Low, medium and high strength. TRANSLUCENT VEIL ✓ Spread a faint dark film over the whole page: still readable up close, an unreadable smudge from across the room. ✓ Translucency in three levels — high (default), medium and low. ✓ Smart translucency follows system signals only (dark mode, an HDR display) so the amount of concealment stays even. ✓ Stacks with every other protection. It reads no page content and asks for no new permission. DECOY PAGE ✓ Replace the page with a harmless one when someone walks up. ✓ “Loading” is free; more scenes are part of PRO. ✓ Can be assigned per domain, or picked at random. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚙️ AUTOMATIC WHEN YOU NEED IT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PER-SITE RULES ✓ Remember which protections apply to which domain. ✓ Manual mode: you flip the switches. ✓ Automatic mode: the site opens already covered. EXCEPTION PATHS ✓ Keep /admin or /billing readable while the rest of the site stays covered. ✓ Prefix matching, so one rule covers a whole section. SITE LOCK (PRO) ✓ Seal a whole domain behind a 6-digit PIN. ✓ Opening settings stays normal — only unlocking asks for the PIN. ✓ The PIN is stored as a salted hash, never in plain text. CAMERA SENTRY (PRO) ✓ The camera notices when someone comes up behind you and covers the page. ✓ Sensitivity and cover style are adjustable. ✓ Detection runs entirely on your device; no frame is uploaded. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔒 PRIVACY — STRAIGHT ANSWERS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE · Nothing of the page. Keywords, images, URLs and page text are read and covered inside your browser. They are never sent anywhere. · Nothing of your camera. Frames are processed locally by the sentry. · A licence check when you activate or re-check a PRO code: the code, a random device identifier, the product name and the extension version. · Optional anonymous feature counts (Google Analytics 4), on by default: “keyword masking switched on”, “PRO gate reached”, and similar. Never URLs, page titles, keywords, images, file names or the licence code. Switch it off in Settings → Other at any time. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE · Settings, shortcuts, per-site rules and learned image rules · The PRO licence code and its activation time · Everything you have covered — covers are drawn, not stored WHY IT ASKS FOR ACCESS TO ALL SITES CrispGuard cannot know in advance which page you will want to cover. The content script looks at the page to draw covers and to decide whether an image matches a rule. It does not read passwords, messages, form values or your browsing history, and it does not transmit page content. THE OTHER PERMISSIONS · storage — settings, licence, counters · offscreen — the camera sentry needs a document that keeps reading the camera while the service worker sleeps · camera — requested at runtime, only when you switch the sentry on. Declining it leaves every other feature working. NO ADS. NO DATA BROKERS. NO SELLING ANYTHING. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🆓 FREE vs PRO — THE HONEST VERSION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREE, FOREVER · Keyword masking (black bar) · Image masking, default placeholder · Area masking: blur and rectangle · Spotlight (circle) and full-page blur (low) · Translucent veil (high) · Decoy page: “Loading” · Automatic protection on 1 site · No account, no time limit, no credit card PRO · Seven image placeholder styles · Learning image rules by picking · Site lock and camera sentry · Decoy pages beyond “Loading” · Exception paths and automatic protection on unlimited sites · Smart detection (phones, emails, IDs, bank cards, amounts) · Extra mask and area styles, extra spotlight shapes, medium and high blur · Denser translucency (medium and low) and smart translucency · One licence for 2 devices (monthly) or 4 (yearly); release a device whenever you want Why paid? The free plan covers the everyday case. PRO covers the setups that need more machinery — a camera pipeline, per-domain automation, a PIN lock. The free plan is not a trial. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED Your licence is a code you paste into Settings. There is no sign-up, no email required, and no password to forget. Manage it at the licence page: look up the status or release the device. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✅ COMPATIBILITY — WHAT WORKS, WHAT DOESN'T ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WORKS · Ordinary http and https pages, on any site Chrome lets an extension read · Pages with iframes, shadow DOM, lazy-loaded images and CSS backgrounds · Text inside inputs, textareas and contenteditable regions · 51 interface languages, including right-to-left Arabic and Hebrew DOESN'T WORK (AND WE WON'T PRETEND OTHERWISE) · Chrome's own pages: chrome://, the Web Store, the PDF viewer. The browser blocks every extension there. · Browser-internal UI (bookmarks bar, downloads panel, DevTools). · Anything rendered into a canvas/WebGL surface — there is no text or image element to cover. · Screenshots or screen recording taken by another app. CrispGuard changes what is drawn on your display; it is not a DRM or capture-blocking tool. A NOTE ON WHAT THIS IS CrispGuard is a privacy convenience for shared spaces, not a security product. It does not encrypt your screen and does not stop someone with access to your computer. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🚀 GETTING STARTED ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. Add CrispGuard to Chrome. 2. Open a page with something you would rather not show. 3. Press the shortcut (or click the icon) for the protection you want: keywords, images, areas or the translucent veil. 4. Draw, type or pick — the cover appears immediately. 5. Press the same shortcut again to remove it. Nothing is rewritten on the page permanently. 6. Want it automatic? Open Settings → Automatic protection and add the domain. Next time the page opens, it is already covered. That is the whole workflow. No onboarding wizard, no account, no new tab to manage. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❓ QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Q: Does it work on every website? A: On any ordinary http/https page Chrome lets an extension read. Chrome's own pages and the PDF viewer are blocked by the browser itself. Q: Can a website detect that I am using it? A: The covers are ordinary elements drawn on top of the page. A site that deliberately inspects the DOM could notice extra nodes, but no normal site does this, and nothing is sent to the site. Q: Does it send my page content anywhere? A: No. Masking is decided and drawn inside your browser. The only network requests are the optional licence check and the optional anonymous feature count. Q: What happens when I turn a protection off? A: Everything it covered is restored immediately, including swapped images and hidden text. Q: Do I need an account? A: No. The free plan needs nothing. A PRO licence is a code you paste into Settings. Q: Can I move my licence to another computer? A: Yes. Open the licence page, enter the code and release the current device, then activate on the new one. Q: Does the translucent veil read the screen or use the camera? A: Neither. It is a plain semi-transparent layer. “Smart translucency” only reads the browser's own signals (dark mode, an HDR display) to keep the veil looking even — no page text, no images and no camera. Q: Does the camera sentry record me? A: No. Frames are analysed in memory to decide “is someone behind me” and are then discarded. Nothing is recorded, stored or uploaded. Q: Can I use it on a managed work computer? A: That depends on your organisation's policy. CrispGuard needs no admin rights, but installing extensions may be restricted by policy. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🗓 RELEASE NOTES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 2.0 — October 2026 NEW · New name and identity: CrispGuard — one brand word in all 51 languages, with a short "what it does" suffix in each store title. · Translucent veil: a faint film over the page, in three translucency levels, with smart translucency. · Seven image placeholder styles, picked from a hover menu. · “By rule” image masking: learn rules by picking images. · Per-domain automatic protection and exception paths. · Site lock with a 6-digit PIN, and a camera sentry. · 51-language interface, including right-to-left Arabic and Hebrew. · Light and dark interface, export and import of settings.
