Preview Instant Site themes live in the Instant Site Editor without repeated deployments. Crane Dev Tools by Lightspeed enables live preview of your local Crane theme directly in the Instant Site Editor. When connected to your local server, the extension renders your local theme directly in the IS Editor. This allows you to review and adjust theme code, merchant settings, and the consumer-facing interface using real store data. A one-time deployment is required to register your section in Instant Site. After that, you can continue developing locally without deploying each change. To preview your local Crane theme in the IS Editor, follow these steps: 1. Install Crane Dev Tools by Lightspeed from the Chrome Web Store. 2. Deploy your section once so it becomes available in Instant Site. 3. Start your local Crane development server. 4. Open your IS theme in the Instant Site Editor. 5. Turn on Crane Dev Tools extension. 6. In the extension popup, select the section or sections you want to preview. 7. Edit your code locally and see changes live in the Instant Site Editor.
