Overview
Summon a neon spider that borrows the words on your page. Playful, local, and instantly reversible.
cr4wler puts an animated neon spider on the page you’re reading. Watch it walk across the layout, tug letters out of place, loosen pictures into tiles and bend cards. Hover near something to guide its next move, or leave it to explore. When you’re done, press Escape to clear the spider and its trail. Choose your spider: - Curious: a long-legged widow with careful steps and precise bites. - Dreamy: a rounded orb-weaver with slower movement and gentle peeling. - Feral: a jumping spider with quick pounces and more energetic shredding. Make it your own: - Adjust the intensity of future effects. - Turn cursor following on or off. - Pause the spider while keeping its trail, then resume when you’re ready. - Use Restore or Escape to remove the effects while preserving page edits. - Try the bundled playground to see what each spider can do. cr4wler runs locally, with no account, analytics or external service required. It activates on the tab you choose and does not request permanent access to every website. Page content stays in your browser. Some pages and images cannot support every effect. Chrome internal pages are restricted, and unsupported images may receive an outline instead of breaking apart. Reduced-motion settings keep the spider still. Free and open source.
