Watch YouTube in sync with friends. Peer-to-peer, no account, free.

CoWatch keeps a YouTube video in step for everyone watching it together. One person creates a room and shares the link. When anyone plays, pauses or skips, everyone else follows within a fraction of a second. Change video and the room comes with you. Your browsers talk to each other directly. There is no account to make, no queue to wait in, and nothing of your session kept anywhere. It is free because there is nothing to pay for. At rest the extension is three pixels tall. It shows a thin bar along the top edge of the video that tells you, at a glance, how many people are in the room and whether everyone is in step. Move your mouse and it opens into the full panel, exactly when YouTube shows its own controls, and it retreats with them when you go back to watching.
