Save the cover image (thumbnail) of any YouTube video or Short in one click, right from the player. Cover Saver adds a small button to the YouTube player controls. Click it, and the video's original thumbnail is saved to your Downloads folder in the best available quality. HOW IT WORKS • Regular videos: the button sits in the player's control bar, next to the subtitles and settings buttons. You get the largest available thumbnail, usually 1280×720. • Shorts: the button sits in the top-right Shorts controls. You get the original vertical cover (up to 1080×1920). • The image is saved exactly as YouTube serves it, with no re-compression. If the largest size isn't available, the next best one is used. • Works in theater and fullscreen mode, and keeps working as you move between videos and scroll through Shorts. • The video keeps playing when you click. SMART FILE NAMES Each file is named with the video's view count, age and title, so your covers are easy to sort and compare: 12k_2months_Video title [videoId].jpg 1834M_16years_Video title [videoId].jpg Views are shortened to k and M. Age is shown in days, months or years since publication. PRIVACY FIRST • No data collection, no analytics, no ads, no account access. Nothing is sent to the developer. • Everything happens locally in your browser. • Network requests go only to YouTube's own image server, to fetch the thumbnail. • Runs only on youtube.com and asks for no other permissions.
