CopyPaste Unlocker is a lightweight Chrome extension that helps users restore common copy and paste behavior on websites they choose to enable. Many websites block normal browser actions such as text selection, copy, cut, paste, or the context menu. CopyPaste Unlocker helps recover these common actions in a safer and more controlled way. Why install it: - Enable copy and paste only on the sites you choose - Keep settings separate for each website - Use Safe Mode by default to reduce interference with normal typing and complex web apps - Run locally in the browser without remote code or unnecessary tracking - Request site access only when you turn the feature on for the current site Key features: - Allow Copy: helps restore common copy, cut, text selection, and context menu behavior - Allow Paste: helps restore common paste behavior where websites block it - Safe Mode: enabled by default to avoid broad keyboard interference and reduce the risk of breaking editors or input fields - Per-site control: one website can be enabled while another remains off How it works: CopyPaste Unlocker is not active on every website by default. When you open the extension on a supported http or https page, you can choose whether to enable copy or paste for that site. The extension then requests access only for that specific site. Privacy and permissions: - Runs locally in your browser - Stores only per-site settings using chrome.storage.local - Does not collect browsing history - Does not read clipboard contents - Does not upload copied text, page content, or site lists - Uses only the permissions needed for its core function Important notes: - This extension does not claim to work on every website - It does not bypass paywalls, account permissions, or server-side access controls - Some websites with highly customized editors may still keep their original restrictions - Chrome internal pages such as chrome:// pages are not supported CopyPaste Unlocker has a single purpose: helping users restore common website copy and paste behavior on sites they choose to enable.
