Overview
Paste without the colors, see every copy before you paste it and catch stray spaces or sensitive details first, on any site.
Copy:Paste+ makes copy and paste behave. Text you paste arrives clean, every copy shows you what it holds before you paste it, and the details you shouldn't be pasting get flagged first. PASTE WITHOUT DRAGGING COLORS IN Copy from anything in dark mode (an AI assistant, a docs site, a chat) and the colors come with it: pale text and dark blocks that only show up when someone reads your email or ticket on white. Copy:Paste+ drops pasted colors and backgrounds on the way in, in rich-text editors on any site and in any frame. Formatting such as bold, headings and links still comes through. Pasted text can be set in a font and color of your choosing; both match the editor by default. SEE EVERY COPY - Your copies go in a small window of their own, outside your tabs: up to nine recent copies from every tab, plus pins, kept as you move between tabs and pages. Paste or Plain pastes into the tab you were last in, where its cursor was. Prefer cards on the page? Turn the window off in the settings. - With the window off, each copy or cut opens a small card showing what you copied, the ways to paste it and the hotkey for each. Copy a few things and they stack up, numbered: Alt+1 to Alt+9 pastes any of them, Alt+Shift+number as plain text. - Each card names the page it came from, with its site icon, and can take you back to that tab or open the page again. - Pin a copy you'll use again to keep it, in every tab, until you unpin it or close Chrome. - Switch tabs and your newest copy comes with you. - Cards close themselves after a few seconds (you choose how long, or have them stay until you close them), can fade as they go, and sit in a corner or next to your pointer. CATCH MISTAKES BEFORE YOU PASTE - Stray spaces: a copy that starts or ends with spaces, tabs or line breaks says so, with a Trim button. Alt+V pastes the newest copy trimmed. - Sensitive details: card numbers, email addresses and other personal details or access keys are masked on the card, with a warning naming what was found. Mask replaces the copy, and the clipboard, with the masked version in one click. Your clipboard is never changed unless you ask. SCREEN GRABS Grab what's visible, an area you drag or the whole page, from the toolbar panel, a keyboard shortcut you set or the right-click menu. You can also grab a whole screen or window. A grab goes to the clipboard with a card and a Save as file button, to a file, or both. THE FULL PAGE ADDRESS Chrome's address bar shortens what it shows. The toolbar panel shows the whole address of the page you're on. Copy it as it is or without its tracking codes (including any you add), or copy it as a link that pastes as the page title in mail and documents. Turn on the address bar to keep the full address in a slim strip at the top of every page, or just the sites you choose; fold it away when it's in the way. Copy the address from the right-click menu or a keyboard shortcut you set, in the form you need. RIGHT-CLICK MENU In a text box, paste any of your last six copies or the newest one trimmed or masked. Selected text can be copied as plain text or copied and pinned. Right-click the page to copy its full address, a link to copy it without the tracking, or an image to copy it as a card. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Copy:Paste+ never reads your clipboard. A card holds the copy as it was made, in your browser's memory only: it goes when its card closes, and everything is gone when Chrome closes. Settings are the only thing saved to disk. Nothing is collected, and nothing is sent anywhere. If you remove Copy:Paste+, Chrome opens a short feedback form in a new tab; answering is optional. The settings page has a search box, dark and light themes, and seasonal and holiday themes. Customize any theme's colors and keep your version alongside the original. There's an optional seasonal animation in the toolbar panel and copies window (off until you choose one), along with backup and restore and per-area resets.
