Overview

One click copies the page title and link. Pastes as a live link in rich text, as markdown in editors.

Copying a page title and its URL takes four moves: select the title, copy, click the address bar, copy again - and you still have to glue them together at the other end. Copy Page Title and URL does it in one click. Click the toolbar button. The active tab's title and link go to your clipboard in two formats at once, and the right one appears depending on where you paste: • Paste into a chat message, a document or any rich-text field, and you get the page title as a clickable link. • Paste into a code editor, a README, a plain-text note or any other plain-text field, and you get the markdown: [Page title](https://example.com) Same click, same clipboard. You never choose a format, and you never paste a bare URL into a document again. WHO IT'S FOR • Writers and researchers collecting sources without breaking flow. • Engineers dropping links into tickets, PR descriptions and standup notes. • Anyone who keeps notes in markdown and wants clean, clickable links. • Support and ops teams pasting page references into chat all day. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • No popup. The button is the action, one click, done, with a green checkmark on the icon so you know it worked. • Both formats every time. Rich link and markdown are written together, so the destination decides, not you. • Titles are escaped properly. Quotes, ampersands and brackets in a page title won't break the link you paste. This is where most copy-link tools quietly fail. • Nothing to set up. No account, no sign-in, no options page, no onboarding. PRIVACY FIRST Copy Page Title and URL reads the active tab's title and address only at the moment you click, and writes them straight to your clipboard on your own device. It requests "activeTab" and "scripting" — activeTab so the click itself grants one-off access to the tab you're on, and scripting so the copy can be placed on the clipboard from that page. It asks for no host permissions and no all-sites access, so installing it shows no permission warning. Nothing is collected, stored, logged, tracked or sent anywhere. No accounts, no analytics, no servers, no network requests of any kind. Full privacy policy: https://dualab.my/products/copy-page-title-and-url/privacy/ NOTE ON RESTRICTED PAGES Chrome blocks all extensions from running on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store and the new tab page. On those, the button shows a grey dash instead of copying, that's Chrome's rule, not a bug.
