it installed without asking. As far as I am concerned, that is what malware does
David, how *on earth* did that happen? Google has this stuff on lockdown. I can assure you this extension can't do that.

The developer says "Cookie Killer for Facebook is a side project of mine. It's maintained by just me in my spare time. Please be patient with me as I fix bugs, add features and address your concerns." So if it works for you, hooray. If not -- you'll probably not be able to know anyway.
PS. You can check what cookies are installed for a site using the Chrome Developer tools. It's not the easiest, most user-friendly thing, but there are lots of tutorials online.
