Overview

Carry the whole conversation to your next AI in one click, shortened so you spend fewer tokens and less time on every hop.

Pick the right AI for each part of your work, without saying it all again. You get deep into a conversation with one AI. Then you want a second opinion, or a different strength, from another one. The conversation you have built up so far does not come with you. PromptHop moves it across in one click. It reads the conversation you are already in, and puts it into the next AI tool's message box, already written and ready to send. HOW IT WORKS 1. Capture: A small panel sits in the corner of your chat. One click takes the conversation you are in. 2. Hop: Choose where it goes. The other tool opens with your conversation already in the message box. 3. Send: Read it over, change anything you like, and press enter. The next AI picks up where the last one left off. Nothing to set up. No account to make. Install it and the panel is there the next time you open a chat. YOU DECIDE WHAT TRAVELS Two settings, both in plain language, both remembered between sessions. 1. Messages: Take the whole chat, or just the last few, or only what is new since your last hop. That last one is the quiet favourite once you get going, because it lets you move a conversation forward in stages without ever repeating yourself. 2. Text length: Keep every word, or have it shortened, or shortened further. The shorter settings condense the older parts of the conversation and leave the recent messages intact, because the recent ones are usually the ones that matter to your next question. A preview shows you exactly what is about to be captured, before it is copied. Nothing leaves your screen without you seeing it first. WHY SHORTENING MATTERS Every AI tool has limits. Free plans have message caps. Paid plans bill by the amount of text. Long conversations eventually run out of room and start forgetting their own beginning. Shortening the conversation before it travels means you fit more of it in, you spend less of your allowance carrying it, and you leave more room for the actual answer. On a long working chat the saving is substantial. On a short one it is small, and PromptHop shows you the real figure rather than a promise. WHERE IT WORKS ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, in any direction between them. Capture in one, hop to any of the others. There is a keyboard shortcut for capture and one for paste, so once it becomes a habit you can do both without reaching for the mouse. The panel can be dragged wherever suits you on the page, and switched off completely from the toolbar button if you would rather not see it. YOUR CONVERSATION STAYS ON YOUR COMPUTER This is the part I care most about, so it is worth being exact. Your conversations are read and shortened on your own machine, by code running in your browser. They are never uploaded. There is no PromptHop server holding your chats, because there is no PromptHop server at all. I cannot read what you capture. Nothing you say to an AI is used to train anything. There is no account and no sign in, which means there is nothing linking what you do to who you are. PromptHop does record anonymous usage figures, and I would rather say so plainly than bury it. Those figures are counts of actions: that a capture happened, which tool's page it happened on, your browser and country, and a timestamp. They never contain a word of your conversation. The privacy policy sets all of it out in the same plain language. WHO IT IS FOR Anyone who keeps more than one AI open, or who wants to carry a conversation into a fresh chat in the same one. USE CASES A few examples of how I use it. I would like to hear what you use it for, through the feedback box in the extension. 1. Research and writing: Gather the material with one tool, then move it to a different one to draft, without re-explaining the brief. 2. Planning and building: Reason a problem through with one AI, then hand the whole thread to another that is better at the doing. 3. Second opinions: Ask the same question of two or three tools, each starting from the same background, then compare the answers before you commit. 4. A fresh start on a long chat: When a conversation gets slow or starts losing the thread, capture it, shorten it, and start a clean one that still knows everything. BUILT BY ONE PERSON I built this because I had four AI tabs open on most days and got tired of being the courier between them. It does the one job, and I would rather it do that well than do ten things adequately. There is a feedback box in the extension. It reaches me directly, and it is genuinely how the next version gets decided. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS NOT It does not work inside the AI tools' mobile apps, only in a desktop browser. It is not present on any site other than the four it supports, and it reads your conversation only while the panel is open, to build the preview and the capture you asked for. Shortening is a trade. The shortest setting is a condensed version of the conversation, not a word-for-word copy. That is the point, and the preview is there so you always see what you are actually capturing and sending to the other tool.
