Your bank statement never leaves your browser. ConvertStatement turns bank-statement PDFs into CSV — entirely inside your browser, with no account and no internet connection. WHAT IT REQUIRES - Text-based PDF statements (the kind banks generate for download) — not scanned images, and not password-protected files. - CSV conversion is the offline, no-account path. It works for nine major US and Canadian banks; the popup names the ones it recognizes, and the current list is kept at convertstatement.com. - Excel, OFX and QBO output go through our online service at convertstatement.com, which means the PDF is uploaded. With CSV selected, a statement from a bank outside that list is not uploaded: the popup says so on your device and names the banks it converts. WHAT IT DOES Drop a statement PDF into the popup with CSV selected and click "Download CSV". The extension reads and converts the file on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is stored. No sign-up, no sign-in, no trial. Open the popup for the first time and it converts a bundled sample statement automatically, so you can see exactly what the output looks like before giving it a real file. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the extension popup (or click "Convert" on a PDF you're already viewing). 2. Drop your statement PDF — or use the bundled sample. 3. Keep the CSV format selected. 4. Download the converted file. KEY FEATURES - **Offline CSV for nine banks** — rule-based parsers run in your browser. No PDF leaves your machine. - **Nothing to sign up for** — the CSV path never asks for an account. - **Rule-based parsing** — deterministic and fast, no AI/ML guessing. - **Balance-checked output** — where the statement prints opening and closing balances, the extracted transactions are reconciled against them. - **Bundled sample statement** — runs automatically on first open, and again any time from "Try with a sample statement". ### With the online service Excel, OFX and QBO output — including for banks outside the offline list above — are handled by our online service at convertstatement.com, only when you pick one of those formats. Signing in from the popup raises the free page limit. This is optional — every capability described above works without it. PRIVACY With CSV selected, the extension never transmits your PDF anywhere — including when the bank is not on the offline list. If you choose Excel, OFX or QBO, the PDF is uploaded to convertstatement.com, processed in memory and immediately discarded — nothing is stored. See convertstatement.com/privacy. The extension requests only two permissions: `storage` (to remember your chosen format) and `activeTab` (to notice a PDF on the page you are viewing).
