ConvertLocal – Private PDF Converter
Overview
Convert images to PDF, PDF to Word, images or text, and merge or split PDFs, all on your computer. No uploads, no email.
ConvertLocal converts your documents right in Chrome. Files are processed on your computer: nothing is uploaded, nothing is emailed, no account is needed. Conversions • Images → PDF: JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF photos and scans. Phone photos come out upright, on image-sized, A4 or Letter pages. • PDF → Word (.docx): headings, paragraphs, bullet lists and bold/italic text. • PDF → Images: every page (or the pages you choose) as PNG or JPG, at 72, 150 or 300 dpi, with a one-click ZIP. • PDF → Text. • Merge PDFs in the order you choose. • Split / extract pages: e.g. "1-3, 5, 8-", into one file or one file per page. • Shrink scanned PDFs for email. • Word → PDF through Chrome's print dialog (Save as PDF). Quick access • Click the toolbar icon to open the converter. • Right-click an image → "Convert image to PDF". • Right-click a PDF link → "Convert this PDF to Word". Well-behaved • Never takes over how your files open. • No ads, no tracking. Uninstall like any other extension. • Results save to Downloads/ConvertLocal. Notes: PDF → Word works on PDFs with selectable text; scanned PDFs need OCR, which isn't included yet. Complex layouts (multi-column magazines, tables) convert to simplified paragraphs.
