Contextual English IPA adds pronunciation annotations to English words while you browse the web. The extension uses an MDX dictionary provided by the user. Pronunciations and dictionary definitions are processed locally in the browser, giving you full control over which dictionary is used. Features include: * Display IPA pronunciation above English words on webpages * Import and use your own MDX dictionary * Use dictionary pronunciations exactly as provided when available * Show all pronunciations when a dictionary entry contains multiple readings * Infer common inflected forms such as -s, -es, -ed, -ing and possessive 's when the inflected form is not available in the dictionary * Show dictionary meanings below the pronunciation * Group meanings by part of speech, such as n., v., adj. and adv. * Optional on-demand lookup * Optional mouse-hover lookup * Adjustable pronunciation size and color * Support for dynamically loaded webpage content * Interface languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean The extension does not include a built-in pronunciation dictionary. You need to import a compatible MDX dictionary before pronunciation lookup can be used. Dictionary files, webpage text and lookup data are processed locally. The extension does not require an online pronunciation service.
