Release Note v0.1.10: Guardian now keeps prompt review cards visible at the top of the AI prompt box, even for long drafts. This makes it clearer why a prompt is paused and helps users choose whether to send the safer version, edit, or continue. Release v0.1.7 note: Improves the Guardian first-run and prompt protection experience. This update adds clearer, more user-friendly setup language, replaces technical bridge wording with simpler connection guidance, and improves prompt warning cards with clearer risk reasons. It also reduces repeated warning cards when a user chooses to edit a prompt, while keeping local-first prompt protection and Control Tower integration unchanged. Release v0.1.6 note: Improved Guardian’s local browser-to-desktop connection. This update adds native bridge discovery so the Chrome extension can more reliably find the local Guardian runtime without exposing tokens in the browser UI. It also prepares live prompt coaching events for safer real-time guidance while users work in supported AI tools. Includes stability improvements for local runtime pairing, native messaging, and Control Tower status reporting. Please note: Version 0.1.3 addresses Purple Potassium by removing the unused identity permission. We also removed activeTab after auditing the extension permissions. The submitted manifest now requests only storage, sidePanel, and nativeMessaging, plus localhost/127.0.0.1 host permissions for the local Guardian runtime. Prompt capture remains off by default until the user accepts the prominent in-extension disclosure. Description: ContextECF Halo is a local-first browser companion for Project Guardian. It helps route supported browser AI prompts and workspace interactions to the Guardian runtime installed on your own device. Guardian can check prompts before they are sent, show local coaching when a request looks risky, and record privacy-preserving receipts for user-visible review. The extension is designed for people who want extra guardrails while using browser-based AI at work. Halo uses local browser storage for settings and connects to the Guardian runtime through localhost or Chrome native messaging. Prompt content is handled only for the Guardian protection flow. The extension does not sell user data, does not use data for ads, and does not send prompt content to Guardian-operated cloud services. This preview release supports local setup, browser-side prompt protection, Control Tower status, and policy-aware coaching. Broader desktop automation, native signed installers, and autonomous local app execution are separate production gates and are not claimed by this Chrome extension listing. Prompt capture is turned off by default. Before Halo checks prompts, the side panel main view shows a prominent disclosure describing what data is handled and asks the user to confirm consent.
