We do not track, collect, store, or transmit your conversation histories or project files anywhere. • Fully Manifest V3 Compliant. 🛠️ COMPLETE QUICK-START & POWER USER GUIDE Getting started with ContextOS takes less than two minutes. Follow this step-by-step walkthrough to unlock your advanced, local-first AI workspace: 1️⃣ ONBOARDING & BRING-YOUR-OWN-KEY (BYOK) • Open any supported web-based AI interface (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, or Gemini). • Open the ContextOS sidebar panel. On your first launch, a welcome splash screen will appear. • Input your personal Google Gemini API Key (supports free or paid tier Gemini 2.5 Flash keys) to connect the automated parsing engines. • Alternatively, click "Skip for now" to look around the workspace first. You can always bind your key later by expanding the "GEMINI API KEY" card at the bottom of the sidebar. *(Note: If you are using a free-tier API key, Google imposes a standard 15 Requests Per Minute rate limit. If you rapidly process items back-to-back, simply pause a few seconds for the quota window to clear).* 2️⃣ SETTING UP YOUR FIRST PROJECT WORKSPACE • At the top of the sidebar under "ACTIVE PROJECT", click the "+ New" button to spin up a completely isolated workspace (e.g., "Workspace 2"). You can rename your workspaces dynamically inline. • Expand the "PROJECT CORE" card. Type your overarching system instructions, global project definitions, or codebase rules (e.g., "Target Audience: Small-scale agricultural input providers in India"). This serves as the master context for this project. • Under "Project Context", click "+ Add Custom Bucket" to build your folder structure. Name individual categories (e.g., "Market Needs", "Technical Requirements", or "Competitor Gaps"). 3️⃣ CAPTURING MAIN-PAGE CONTEXT WITHOUT COPY-PASTE ContextOS dynamically changes its capture target depending on whether you have a selection active: • Method A (Full Chat Turn): Run your prompt on the host page. Without highlighting anything, click the "📸 Capture Latest Chat Turn" button at the bottom of the sidebar. The extension will automatically grab the latest AI response and its matching prompt, placing it cleanly into your sidebar Staging Area. • Method B (Targeted Selection): Highlight a specific sentence, code snippet, or paragraph within the AI response on the host webpage. The sidebar button will dynamically update to "📸 Capture Selection". Click it to pull only that specific text fragment into the Staging Area. *(Note: Highlighting internal helper text inside the extension's sidebar is automatically ignored to protect your data pipeline).* 4️⃣ INTELLECTUAL AUTO-PARSING & DYNAMIC BUCKETING • Once text lands in your Staging Area card, click the purple "✨ Sync to Project Context" button. • ContextOS securely invokes the Gemini 2.5 Flash API locally to format, summarize, and categorize that raw data. • The engine will automatically file the synthesized item into your existing custom buckets. If the captured content represents a brand-new concept, the AI will dynamically create and name a brand-new category bucket for you. 5️⃣ INTER & INTRA WORKSPACE CONTEXT INJECTION Ready to pass your built context to an AI model? • Intra-Platform Injection: Open a clean chat thread on the website you are working on. Click the "🚀 Inject Context" button in the sidebar. • Custom Prompts: A modal will pop up asking what you want to do with the context. Type an optional instruction (e.g., "Draft a lead-generation feature proposal based on these market constraints") or leave it blank, and click "Inject". Your prompt, project core rules, and bucket contents will cleanly synthesize and inject directly into the webpage's chat box. • Inter-Platform Injection: Keep your sidebar open and switch browser tabs to an entirely different AI platform (e.g., move from ChatGPT to Claude or Perplexity). Open the sidebar, select your project workspace, hit "Inject Context", and watch your entire context bundle instantly populate the new platform's text box. 6️⃣ 100% LOCAL PRIVACY, EXPORT & IMPORT • Exporting: Click the "↓ Export" button in the top header. Your entire structured workspace network is instantly compiled into a lightweight JSON file downloaded onto your device. • Resetting: Click the trash icon next to a workspace selector to wipe it completely from your browser. • Importing: Click "↑ Import" and upload your saved JSON file to instantly reconstruct your workspaces, parameters, buckets, and histories 100% offline. No external servers, zero data tracking.
