Contextual meaning AI tool

Cruising through university does not get easier than this. Contexia is a Chrome extension designed to provide users with contextual meanings of words and phrases as they browse web content. By integrating with OpenAI's ChatGPT, the extension offers a richer understanding than traditional dictionaries. Users are able to either input text, or use highlighted text in their browser's current tab, as 'context' to feed to Contexia. Then, they can specify a specific word or phrase and get a thorough explanation for its meaning within said context. In an era where artificial intelligence is difficult and daunting to approach, the Vocab Expander team aims to bring control to both students and teachers: Through the extension, students of any kind will be able to query and 'contextualize' any difficult text they encounter throughout their studies using the latest AI technology. Professors will be able to keep track of their students' queries and analyze them for cross-referencing, aiding students more accurately or adjusting syllabi and assignments to address their students' needs. The Vocab Expander team is currently spearheaded by Dr. Elaine Khoo, and is working closely in collaboration with the University of Toronto.
