Polices the content you consume. Blocks distracting sites, filters YouTube by keyword, and warns you before you dive in.

Content Police polices what you consume online. It sits between you and the impulse click. WHAT IT DOES • Blocks distracting websites — Reddit, X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and any others you add. When you visit one, a full-screen warning takes over the page. • Filters YouTube by keyword — reads the current video's title, channel, and description. If any of your blocked words match, the warning covers the video. • Blurs matching thumbnails everywhere on YouTube — home, search, sidebar, Shorts feed. You don't even get tempted. • Blocks YouTube Shorts entirely (optional) — takes over any /shorts page and hides the Shorts shelves + sidebar entry. • Scans article pages for blocked topics and warns when enough matches pile up. • "Not on my watch" side card slides in when you search YouTube for a blocked keyword. THE WARNING A calm full-screen overlay with a headline, the exact reason you were blocked, and two buttons: • Take me back — sends you back / closes the tab. • Proceed anyway — disabled for a friction countdown (default 10s, configurable). Or switch to Hard Block mode and remove the button entirely. SETTINGS • Add / remove blocked domains and keywords. • Friction mode vs Hard block. • Countdown slider (0–60s). • Article match threshold. • Block Shorts toggle. • Dark / light theme. • Master on/off switch. • Daily + all-time block counter. PRIVACY Content Police runs entirely on your device. It doesn't send any browsing data anywhere. Your blocklist and stats sync across your Chrome profile via chrome.storage.sync (Google's built-in setting-sync); nothing else leaves your machine.
