Overview

Save and run JavaScript commands in the current tab like bookmarks.

ConsoleShelf is a compact, local-first command shelf for JavaScript. Save commands you use repeatedly, find them quickly, and run them directly in the current Chrome tab with one click. What’s new in 1.6.0 • Added a read-only View mode in Manage and the popup. • Added image support in Notes — paste PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF images directly into a note. • Notes can now mix text and images while keeping the existing compact editor layout. • Pasted images are stored locally in IndexedDB and remain available after Chrome restarts. • Duplicating a command now preserves its Note images independently. • Import and export now preserve Note images while remaining compatible with older ConsoleShelf JSON files. • Existing text-only Notes and older backups continue to work without migration. What’s new in 1.5.0 • Added single-level folders for organizing saved commands. • Added Uncategorized as a permanent root for commands without a folder. • Reorder folders and move commands between folders with drag and drop. • Added folder selection to New/Edit commands. • Added safe folder deletion: move commands to Uncategorized or optionally delete them together. • Import and export now preserve folder organization while remaining compatible with older ConsoleShelf files. • Folder search results remain easy to find even when folders are collapsed. What’s new in 1.4.0 • Added optional Notes for saved commands. • Use Command and Notes tabs without increasing the popup size. • Notes support multiline text for usage instructions, parameters, and reminders. • Duplicating a command now preserves its Notes. • Import and export now preserve Notes while remaining compatible with older ConsoleShelf JSON files. • Empty libraries now disable Export until there is something to export. What’s new in 1.3.0 • Improved imports: same-name commands with different JavaScript are now safely imported as renamed copies. • Exact duplicate commands are automatically skipped. • Simplified Import Preview with New, Renamed, and Duplicate statuses. • Added bulk selection and deletion in Manage. • Added Select all / Deselect all for faster command cleanup. • Simplified full-library cleanup through Select all and bulk delete. What’s new in 1.2.0 • Added manual command ordering in Manage with drag-and-drop. • Popup and exports now follow your custom command order. • Search now matches command names only for clearer results. • Added localized extension descriptions for English and Simplified Chinese Chrome environments. • Direct Run, import/export, and existing saved commands remain fully compatible. What’s new in 1.1.0 • Direct Run: execute saved JavaScript in the current tab with one click. • No DevTools required. • Create and edit commands directly in the popup. • Simplified command format: Name + Command. • Cleaner five-command popup with fast search and management. • Improved JSON import/export for backup and sharing. • Backward compatible with existing ConsoleShelf commands. • Local-only and privacy-first. Key features • Save multiline JavaScript commands with a clear name • Run a saved command directly in the current tab • Search commands from a compact five-row popup • Create and edit commands directly in the popup • Duplicate and delete saved commands • Import JSON with new, duplicate, and conflict preview • Export a portable JSON backup • Manage a larger command library from a dedicated page • Commands with more than five entries stay accessible through internal scrolling • No account, cloud service, or remote backend required How it works 1. Open ConsoleShelf from the Chrome toolbar. 2. Find the command you want to run. 3. Click the arrow button. 4. The saved JavaScript runs directly in the current tab. ConsoleShelf is local-only. Your saved commands stay in Chrome's local extension storage. There is no account, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, tracking, or network service. Direct Run uses Chrome's official User Scripts API. Chrome 138 and later require “Allow User Scripts” to be enabled once in ConsoleShelf's extension details before Direct Run can be used. Permissions • storage — stores your saved commands locally in Chrome • userScripts — runs JavaScript commands that you explicitly save and launch • activeTab — temporarily allows a command to run only in the tab you are actively using ConsoleShelf does not request broad host permissions.
