Overview

🔍 Verify your Google Consent Mode v2 setup on any page: instant verdict, all 7 signals, decoded gcs/gcd. 100% local.

🔍 See exactly what Google Consent Mode v2 is doing on any page. Consent Mode Checker reads the live consent state of the page you are on and tells you, in plain language, whether the implementation is correct. Open the popup and you get a verdict, the state of all seven consent signals, and a timeline of every consent command and Google tag request the page made. ⚡ Everything is computed locally in your browser. No account, no sign-up, no data collection, no telemetry. ✨ WHAT YOU GET ✅ Verdict at a glance A clear result for the current page: correct, warnings, problems, Consent Mode not detected, or no Google tags found. The toolbar icon carries the same status as a badge, so you can see it without opening the popup. 🎛️ All seven v2 signals, default and after consent ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage, functionality_storage, personalization_storage and security_storage, each shown as "default" then "update". Advertising and analytics signals that are granted by default, before the visitor has chosen, are flagged. ⏱️ Activity timeline Consent commands (default, update), gtag set calls, and requests to Google endpoints (GA4, Google Ads, Floodlight and others), merged in the order they actually happened, with relative timings. 🔬 Decoded consent parameters Expand any request to see gcs, gcd, dma, dma_cps and npa decoded per signal, so you can confirm what really reached Google instead of trusting what the page claims. 🔀 Two independent sources of truth The state is read from dataLayer and from google_tag_data. Consent set through a Google Tag Manager template, which never appears in dataLayer, is still detected. Disagreements between sources are reported, not hidden. 🧩 Environment detection Identifies the consent platform in use (CookieOfficer, Cookiebot, OneTrust, Usercentrics, Didomi, iubenda, CookieYes, IAB TCF and others), whether the browser sends Global Privacy Control, and non-Google platforms present on the page: Microsoft UET, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, HubSpot and Shopify. 👥 WHO IT IS FOR Analytics engineers, web developers and agencies responsible for privacy-compliant measurement, who need to confirm that Consent Mode v2 is wired correctly before a broken setup quietly costs them data. 🔒 PRIVACY The extension makes no network requests of its own. Inspection results are kept in session memory for the current tab and are cleared when you close the browser. Nothing is transmitted, stored remotely or shared with anyone. 🔑 WHY THE PERMISSIONS • Access to sites you visit - the tool must work on whichever site you choose to inspect, and must run before the page's own tags load in order to observe the consent default. • webRequest - read-only observation of the URLs of Google measurement requests, so their consent parameters can be decoded. Nothing is blocked or modified. • webNavigation - reset the result when you navigate, so a previous page's data is never shown for the current one. • storage - keep the current tab's result in session memory for the popup. 🚫 WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not change your site, does not block requests or cookies, and does not manage consent. It is a diagnostic tool: it shows you what is happening so you can fix it yourself. 🐺 Consent Mode Checker is made by CookieOfficer, a consent management platform by Data Wolves.
