Companion for Claude tracks your Claude session usage, logs prompts, and lets you export conversations, right from your browser. Companion for Claude is a full-featured companion extension for Claude.ai — a floating usage widget plus a detailed prompt log, notification center, and model-safety tools, all running locally in your browser. USAGE WIDGET A draggable floating widget on claude.ai shows your session usage percentage, remaining time until reset, a "budget" indicator (ahead/behind a linear pace), live message count, and the model/effort used on your last message, with its per-message cost delta. Switch between a compact horizontal pill and a full vertical card layout, minimize it out of the way, and it remembers your position and preference across sessions. NOTIFICATIONS Countdown alerts fire at 4hr, 3hr, 2hr, 1hr, 30min, and 15min before your session resets, plus a confirmation when it actually resets — even without a Claude tab open, using Chrome's alarm system with a background health-check to recover from any missed alarms. Every fired notification is logged with its exact message and timestamp, viewable any time from the popup. MODEL WARNING MODAL Before you type your first message in a new conversation, a modal shows exactly which model, effort level, and thinking mode are currently selected — so you never accidentally burn a Max-effort Opus response by mistake. Warning behavior is fully configurable per model (always warn, never warn, or warn above a chosen effort level), with rules synced from a live scan of every model Claude.ai currently offers. PROMPT LOG Every message you send is logged locally — full text, timestamp, model, effort, thinking mode, and the exact usage delta and running total it caused. Search instantly across prompts, responses, titles, and dates, with two switchable modes (match any word, or an exact phrase) and live highlighting. Export your full history to CSV or JSON, or import a backup back in. A "Sync" feature reconciles in any conversations that happened on a device without the extension installed (phone, another browser, another computer) by pulling from your Claude.ai account directly — matching by title and timestamp, and merging metadata rather than creating duplicates. CONVERSATION EXPORT Export any open Claude.ai conversation to a clean, readable Markdown file with one click or via right-click context menu — role labels, code blocks with language tags, and a header, ready to save or share. A separate exporter does the same for ChatGPT conversations. TIMESTAMPS & MESSAGE STAMPS Every outgoing message can optionally be stamped with a timestamp and running message count, so both you and Claude have a clear record of when each message was sent and where it falls in the conversation. Pick your timezone from a shortlist or default to your device's own local time — fully toggleable on or off. AUTO-SEND INSTRUCTIONS Save a standing instruction block that's automatically sent as the first message of every new conversation — useful for consistent formatting rules, confirmation logic, or any other standing context you want Claude to have without retyping it every time. TAB VIEW Open the full-screen tab view for a complete, unhindered look at your entire prompt archive (not just the most recent entries), with sticky search, batched loading for large histories, and a scroll-position progress bar. PRIVACY Everything — your prompt log, notification history, and settings — stays on your device in local browser storage. The extension reads your existing Claude.ai session to fetch your own usage data; nothing is ever sent to any third-party server, sold, or shared. No analytics, no tracking.
