Common
Overview
Play your D&D Beyond character inside Roll20: roll, track hit points and open your sheet without leaving the game.
Every game speaks Common, the play surface for tabletop roleplaying games. Common puts your character sheet inside your virtual tabletop, starting with D&D Beyond and Roll20. Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) on the map and just start typing: a few keystrokes find the attack, spell or check you need. Press Enter and your dice roll right on the map, the way they'd land on the table at an in-person game. Rather click? The HUD puts your hit points, AC, spell slots, actions and favorites right on the map. Favorite what you use most, plan your next turn while you wait, and it's all one click away when your turn comes. You play your character instead of digging for where your feats are kept. Learn it once. Every console game uses the same controller, but every tabletop tool makes you learn a new one. Common keeps the same palette and the same keys in every game it supports, so you don't have to hunt through a site's menus ever again. Use what you already own. You've already bought the books and built the characters. Common talks to platforms like D&D Beyond so everything you own is a keystroke away in the HUD and the command palette. Hit points you change in Common change on D&D Beyond and on your token's bars too, so there's no second copy to keep up to date. Play by the same rules. Common doesn't make up rules or do the math. D&D Beyond works out what to roll and adds it up, your dice land on the Roll20 map right where you're playing, and chat gets a clean card showing what happened, so even players who haven't installed Common yet know exactly what's going on. Running the game? The party went left and you prepped right: type "add 50 goblin" and keep playing. Run any monster or NPC, or step into a player's character, from the same palette. Change a creature's hit points, AC or name on the fly, roll attacks and roll tables straight from D&D Beyond's pages, and build encounters before game night. What's in it • A command palette that finds any attack, spell or check in a few keystrokes. • A HUD on the map, with your hit points, AC, spell slots and favorites a click away. • Your whole D&D Beyond sheet in a split or separate window, without leaving the game. • 3D dice in the set you pick, rolled right on your map in a VTT like Roll20, landing on the result of the roll from D&D Beyond for everyone at the table who runs Common. • For everyone at the table, beautiful chat cards show your roll results, the spell as you ready it when someone needs to prepare a save, damage or other effects, and much more. • GM tools: encounters, any NPC, and monsters straight from D&D Beyond or from Common, you pick. Lightning fast searching in the app for any character or creature or monster or.... you name it. Plus build your own named characters with stat blocks, descriptions, images, and all appropriate properties for the given type. • GM conveniences: Need to roll a quick attack but you were looking at the D&D Beyond monster page and not the VTT? Just click the attack in the description on the monster page and it's rolled back on Roll20. Every roll table and creature has the same capability too. No more juggling tabs when you are on the road working from a laptop. Works with: - D&D 5.5e characters from D&D Beyond, in games on Roll20. - D&D 5e works as well (not fully tested) More games, platforms and features are on the way. Requires a free Total Party Fill account (sign in with Google, or email and password). Common is currently in beta testing, and free. Privacy Common doesn't read your game's chat or your browsing history, and your D&D Beyond sign-in never leaves your browser. Our privacy policy lists everything Common sends us and what we keep. We treat your information the way we want ours to be treated.
