Overview

Save ads from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and ad libraries to your store's Inspiration Library in Commander.

Save the ads you find on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and in the Meta Ad Library to one place: your store's Inspiration Library in Commander. A good ad is easy to lose. A screenshot keeps the picture but loses the advertiser, the dates and the landing page. With Commander, one click saves the ad, and your team sees who kept it and why. WHAT IT DOES • Adds a Save to Commander button under each ad in the Meta Ad Library. • Adds a Save to Commander button to the ads in your Facebook feed and in your Instagram feed, Reels and Stories. One click opens the ad in the Meta Ad Library and saves it. • Adds a Save to Commander button to the ads on YouTube video, Shorts and search pages, and marks the ads your store already saved: In Commander. • On Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, the Commander toolbar button also finds the ads on your screen. Pick one and save it. • From the Meta Ad Library, it saves what the page already shows for the ad: the advertiser, the text, the pictures or videos, every card of a carousel, the dates, the platforms and the landing page. • Files the ad in a folder, or in a new folder you create, right from the panel under the ad. • Keeps a note for your team with the ad. • Shows when you or a teammate already saved an ad: "Saved by you", or "Saved by" and your teammate's first name, with the date. • Opens the saved ad in Commander with Open in Commander. • Chrome also asks for access to TikTok at install. It is for Save buttons in the TikTok For You feed. The extension also runs on the TikTok Ad Library. Both stay off until Commander turns TikTok saving on. HOW TO START 1. Install the extension. Chrome shows the sites it works on, once, at install. A tab opens: Connect Commander to save ads. 2. Click Connect. In Commander, go to Settings > Browser extension and click Connect this browser. 3. If the page cannot reach the extension, it shows a one-time code. Click the Commander icon in the Chrome toolbar, choose Enter a code and type the code. 4. Open the Meta Ad Library, your Facebook or Instagram feed, or YouTube, and click Save to Commander on an ad. Each browser saves to one store at a time. To change the store, click Switch store in the extension. To stop, click Disconnect in the extension, or revoke the browser under Connected browsers in Settings > Browser extension. The gear button in the extension opens that page. WHAT YOU NEED • A Commander account with access to the store you want to save ads to, with the Inspiration Library. • Google Chrome on a computer. YOUR DATA • The extension saves an ad only when you click Save to Commander. • On Facebook and Instagram, it reads the page's own ad data to put a button on each ad. It keeps only each ad's id and where it shows, and the ids stay in your browser until you click Save to Commander or Open in Ad Library, which opens that ad's page in the Meta Ad Library. • On the Meta Ad Library and YouTube, while it is connected, it checks which ads on the page your store already saved. For this check it sends Commander the ids of those ads. Commander does not store them. • It never sees your Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Shopify or Commander password. It connects with a one-time code that Commander creates while you are signed in. When it connects, it sends your browser's user-agent text, so Settings > Browser extension can list the browser. • Apart from opening the Meta Ad Library page, or for a TikTok ad the TikTok Ad Library page, of an ad you chose, it sends data only to Commander. The popup shows ad pictures from the sites' own image servers. It holds no analytics or advertising code. • To turn the Save buttons off on a site, remove that site from the extension's site access in Chrome. LIMITATIONS • It works in Google Chrome on a computer. • The status and the running time of a Meta Ad Library ad are a snapshot of the day you saved it. • Some ads cannot be saved, for example an ad whose media Meta removed. The button tells you why. Help: https://commander.omniconvert.com/help/inspiration-library/save-ads-with-the-chrome-extension Commander is a product of Omniconvert.
