Comfort View for YouTube 0.2.5 patch notes Dark now applies YouTube’s native dark appearance across the entire current regular-video page, including backgrounds, text, search, and controls—not only Comfort View. Light leaves the surrounding YouTube page unchanged and makes only the Comfort View area light. Closing Comfort View or leaving a supported video route restores the previous YouTube appearance exactly. During video navigation, the previous appearance is restored while the page folds and the selected appearance is reapplied after the next video is ready. A video rendered during forced Dark now remains readable after Follow YouTube or Close restores the captured light appearance. Appearance settings now stay synchronized across open YouTube tabs and preserve the native theme through page restores and interrupted extension sessions. Fixed the black channel-owner badge on pinned comments so its name and verification icon remain visible. Improved contrast for the Subscribe button, video description and links, pinned labels and owner badges, comment text, timestamps, like counts, and recommendation text. ================================================================== Full description Comfort View for YouTube is an independent browser extension. It is not a YouTube product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google. Keep playback visible and bring the part of YouTube you need within easy reach. On regular video pages, Comfort View presents YouTube’s existing comments and recommendations in a clean, resizable side panel. On wider windows, the player automatically fits the space left beside the panel. On narrow windows, the panel switches to an overlay so the page remains usable. The Comments tab keeps YouTube’s native replies, like counts, Top and Newest sorting, pinned comments, links, timestamps, likes, replies, and comment writing. The Recommended tab uses YouTube’s existing cards, links, and continuous loading. For a current live stream or Premiere, Comfort View adds Live chat when YouTube provides it. For an eligible replay, the tab is labeled Chat replay. The chat tab stays hidden when the native chat interface is unavailable. On Shorts, the toolbar button or Alt+Shift+W opens YouTube’s native responsive comments panel while the Short keeps playing. Closing Comfort View returns the Shorts interface to its previous state. Choose Follow YouTube, Dark, or Light for the panel theme. The interface can follow YouTube’s display language automatically or be set to English or Korean. When regular-video comments are sorted by Newest, Comfort View can check for updates at your chosen interval. A quiet N new comments badge appears without moving your reading position. You can disable automatic checks or refresh manually. Comfort View waits only a limited time for each native YouTube area. If an area is not available, it shows a clear retry or unavailable state instead of an endless loading indicator. Posting comments, likes, replies, or chat messages requires a YouTube sign-in because those actions are handled by YouTube’s native UI. Comment and author information, the current video or Short URL, recommendation-card information, and the available native chat UI are handled locally to provide Comfort View.
