Overview

Pick any color on screen, copy it as HEX, RGB, HSL or OKLCH, check contrast and keep a palette. Nothing leaves your device.

This extension lets you pick a shade from anything you see and use it right away. It runs in the side panel, and nothing is sent to a server. What it does - Sample any pixel on screen with the eyedropper, one at a time or continuously. - Copy the result as HEX, RGB, HSL or OKLCH in a single step, and see the closest CSS name and Tailwind class. - Check text and background contrast against WCAG AA and AAA, with an APCA score and a suggested passing value. - Scan the site you are viewing and list its text, background, border and SVG tones, sorted by use. - Keep your last 50 samples, pin the ones you need, and copy them as CSS variables, JSON or a Tailwind theme. - Where there is no built-in eyedropper, sample inside the site with a magnifier and arrow-key control. How to use it 1. Click the toolbar icon, or press Alt+Shift+C, to open the panel. Or right-click a page and choose "Pick a color" or "Show page colors". 2. Press the large button, then choose anything on the screen. 3. Click a value to copy it, or open the Contrast, Palette and History tabs. Privacy - Everything happens on your device. There is no account, no analytics and no ads. - The extension does nothing until you start it. It never runs by itself. - It has no access to all sites. Reading or picking works only where you opened it, after you use the toolbar icon or a menu item. - Your history stays in this browser and can be switched off or cleared in Settings. Limits - The screen eyedropper depends on the browser. Where it is missing, picking works inside the page only. - Browser pages, stores and PDF viewers cannot be read. Use the toolbar icon on the site you want. - The same tools run in any browser at brownie.tools.
