Overview

Analyze the visible color of a YouTube video with Parade, Waveform, and Vectorscope.

Color Analyzer for YouTube displays color-analysis scopes in Chrome’s side panel or in a detachable analysis window using the visible pixels of the currently playing YouTube video. It is designed for editors, colorists, and creators who want to study a reference video before recreating a similar look in their own project. DATA PROCESSING Only after you accept the in-extension disclosure and explicitly start analysis does the extension locally read the YouTube page address, video identifier, and player state needed to detect and frame a compatible video. The extension temporarily captures the visual output of the active tab, without audio, and crops the visible video area to calculate the scopes. Pixels, page information, and playback state remain in your browser. No image or playback data is sent to a server, the publisher, or any third party. No image is saved automatically. A local PNG is created only when you explicitly select Export frame on a detailed paused measurement. INCLUDED SCOPES • YRGB or RGB Parade • Waveform with selectable Y, R, G, and B channels • Rec.709-derived Vectorscope with hue targets and optional skin tone reference line FEATURES • Live scope analysis during playback • More detailed frame analysis when the video is paused • Detachable analysis window • Trace intensity control • RGB minimum and maximum values • Local PNG export of the exact detailed paused frame • Interface available in English, French, Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese LIMITATIONS The extension analyzes the SDR output rendered by Chrome, not the original video file or source signal. The values are intended for visual analysis and reference matching, not calibrated broadcast measurement. Shorts, YouTube Music, embedded players, fullscreen, YouTube miniplayer, Picture-in-Picture, and calibrated HDR analysis are not supported. Captions, controls, and other visible overlays may affect measurements. INDEPENDENCE Color Analyzer for YouTube is an independent extension. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially connected to YouTube, Google LLC, Blackmagic Design, DaVinci Resolve, or any of their affiliates.
