Overview

Your CRM where the work happens: context in Gmail and LinkedIn, one-click lead capture, and today’s follow-ups in a side panel.

Codext CRM puts your CRM in the places you already work — the Gmail thread you have open, the LinkedIn profile you are reading, the page in front of you — so you stop alt-tabbing to a separate tab to find out who you are talking to. This extension is a client for Codext CRM, which you host yourself. It talks only to your own CRM instance, at the address you enter when you set it up. IN GMAIL A panel docks beside the conversation with the other party's contact record, their company, open deals, the last five interactions, and the recommended next action. Above it sits the sync list: every message in the thread with its own Sync button, plus Sync conversation for all of them. Nothing in your mailbox reaches the CRM until you press one — a mailbox is mostly private mail and a CRM is a shared place, so you pick the customer thread and leave the rest alone. Re-syncing is harmless; the CRM dedupes. If you would rather not choose each time, an option syncs every thread you open. ON LINKEDIN A capture button on member profiles prefills a lead from the name, headline, company and profile URL on screen. ANYWHERE ELSE The side panel (Ctrl+Shift+O / Cmd+Shift+O, or right-click → Capture this page as a lead) reads the addresses on the page you are on and tells you who they are. Right-click a selected address or a mailto: link to look it up directly. FROM THE TOOLBAR Ctrl+Shift+K / Cmd+Shift+K opens a command bar over your contacts, companies and deals — arrows to move, Enter to open. It lists your open follow-ups, tickable in place. Typing "crm" then Tab in the address bar searches the same index. The toolbar icon carries your open follow-up count, and turns red once any of them is overdue. CAPTURING A LEAD The form arrives prefilled from wherever you opened it — name and email from the Gmail sender or the LinkedIn profile, company from the sender's domain or the profile's employer, job title from the headline, deal title from the thread subject. Saving sends one request, and the CRM creates or dedupes the contact and company, assigns the owner, opens the deal, attaches the conversation and files your note. Nothing is saved half-done. WHAT IT SENDS, AND WHERE Everything goes to your own CRM URL and nowhere else. Codext GmbH runs no server that receives your data. There is no analytics and no telemetry. It reads the Gmail conversation you have open and the LinkedIn profile you are viewing, from what is already on screen — not your inbox listing, not your other mail, not your Google account. Any other page is read only when you ask for it, so no content script sits on the sites you browse. SETTING IT UP You need a Codext CRM instance and an API key from it (Settings → API keys, owners and admins only). Open the extension's options, paste the CRM URL and the key, press Test connection, and save.
