Overview

Bridges local frontend DevTools data directly into VS Code for the Coddy unified coding assistant.

Coddy Companion is the official Chrome extension bridge for the Coddy VS Code Extension. It completely eliminates the need to constantly switch back and forth between your code editor and your browser's DevTools during local web development. When you are developing a React, Vue, Next.js, or any frontend application on your localhost, the Coddy Companion extension attaches to your development tab and seamlessly pipes raw network requests, console logs, and unhandled JavaScript exceptions directly into your VS Code editor. By bringing the browser's context directly into your IDE, the Coddy AI coding assistant gains instant, real-time awareness of frontend bugs the moment they happen. This allows Coddy to automatically analyze your errors, trace them back to your source code, and suggest immediate fixes without you ever having to manually copy-paste stack traces or network payloads. Key Features: • Zero-Config Setup: Click "Connect" on your localhost tab, and the bridge is instantly established over a local WebSocket. • Real-Time Log Streaming: See your frontend console.log, console.warn, and console.error outputs directly inside VS Code. • Network Request Interception: Captures blocked CORS requests, failed API calls, and HTTP 4xx/5xx status codes automatically. • Smart Disconnect: Strictly monitors only one active development tab at a time and automatically detaches when the tab is closed. • 100% Local and Secure: Operates strictly on localhost. Data never leaves your machine and is never sent to external servers.
