GEMINI BYOK — BRING YOUR OWN KEY Mono Translate Pro uses Google Gemini with a BYOK model. You provide your own Gemini API key and remain in control of that key. Subtitle content that needs translation is sent directly to Google Gemini using your own key. Your Gemini API key is not sent to Mono Translate Pro servers. MONO ACCOUNT AND ACCESS A Mono account is used to link the extension with your account, show your Trial or Pro status, synchronize access and maintain authorized-device access. Eligible accounts can use the current Full Pro trial offered by Mono Translate Pro. PRIVACY — WHAT MONO ACCESSES AND WHY Personally identifiable information Chrome Web Store requires Mono Translate Pro to disclose that it handles “Personally identifiable information.” For Mono, this means basic account information such as your email address, display name, Mono account identifier and Trial or Pro access status. This information is used only to identify your Mono account, show account status, synchronize Trial/Pro access and connect the website with the Chrome extension. Mono Translate Pro does not ask for or collect government-issued identity documents, national ID numbers, passport information, driver’s-license information or similar identity documents. Authentication information Chrome Web Store also requires Mono Translate Pro to disclose that it handles “Authentication information.” For Mono, this mainly refers to an authorization token used to securely connect the extension with your Mono account and the Gemini API key that you choose to provide for translation. The extension does not receive, read or store your Mono account password. Your Gemini API key is stored in Chrome storage on your device/profile and is used to send translation requests directly to Google Gemini. Your Gemini API key is not sent to Mono Translate Pro servers. YouTube video and website content Mono Translate Pro needs access to the YouTube video that you choose to translate. Depending on the feature being used, the extension may process the current YouTube video URL and title, available or automatically generated YouTube captions, and playback timing information needed for subtitle synchronization. This information is used only to provide subtitle translation, sentence reconstruction, timing synchronization and related translation features. Mono Translate Pro does not use this access to monitor unrelated browsing activity. Browsing information Chrome Web Store may classify access to the URL of the YouTube video you selected as browsing information or web history. Mono Translate Pro does not read or collect your complete Chrome browsing history. The extension identifies only the YouTube page or video that you actively use with Mono when this is required to provide the translation feature. Gemini BYOK privacy You use your own Gemini API key and retain control of it. Subtitle content required for translation is sent directly to Google Gemini with your key. Mono Translate Pro does not use your Gemini API key for advertising, analytics, user profiling or unrelated services. Mono account and Trial/Pro access Mono Translate Pro exchanges the basic account information required to link the extension, verify Trial/Pro status, maintain authorized-device access and refresh access status when needed. Information such as email address, display name and access status may be sent to the extension so it can display the correct account and entitlement. What we do not do Mono Translate Pro does not sell user data. It does not use user data for personalized advertising. It does not use translated content to build advertising profiles. It does not collect payment-card information through the Chrome extension. Data storage Chrome storage may be used to store interface and language preferences, translation-model selection, subtitle display settings, your Gemini API key, temporary translation/playback state, Mono account connection and access status, and device authorization information. Data stored in Chrome is used only to provide Mono Translate Pro functionality. Data sharing Data is shared only when necessary to provide a feature that you request. For example, subtitle content is sent to Google Gemini when you request translation, and account/access information is exchanged with Mono Translate Pro services when you connect or verify your Mono account. Mono does not sell or transfer user data to data brokers or advertising networks. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Mono Translate Pro’s use and transfer of user data follows Chrome Web Store user-data requirements, including Limited Use requirements. User data is used only for clearly described, user-facing Mono Translate Pro features. Your control You can disconnect your Mono account, delete your Gemini API key, clear extension storage or uninstall Mono Translate Pro at any time.
