[Name — comes from the package automatically] MarkLeaf – Markdown Viewer & Editor [Category] Developer Tools (if not in the list: Tools) [Homepage URL] https://markleaf-site.vercel.app/ [Support URL] https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/markleaf/cnhfebgieoikabibmdeafajkccchadia/support [Description — paste everything below this line] MarkLeaf is a Markdown viewer and editor for Chrome. Open a local .md file, a GitHub "Raw" page or any Markdown file you allow, and it becomes a clean, readable document — no separate preview pane. Click to edit right on the page and MarkLeaf saves back to the original file, changing only what you edited. ■ Read • Local .md files (drag a file into Chrome), GitHub "Raw" pages, and .md files on sites you allow open as documents automatically • Outline sidebar with search and folding, reading progress, light/dark mode, five themes, accent colors and background tones, font, size, line height and page width, custom CSS • Tables (stripes, grid, header fill), task lists, footnotes, code highlighting for 50+ languages, callouts, KaTeX math, Mermaid diagrams • When another editor saves the file, MarkLeaf redraws within a second and keeps your reading position • English and Korean interface — follows your browser language ■ Edit — no preview pane, right where you read • Click and type. Press "/" for blocks: headings 1–6, lists, to-dos, tables (pick a size), callouts, toggles, math, diagrams, images, footnotes, emoji • Select text for the toolbox: block type, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, code, highlight and text colors, links, footnotes, inline math, superscript/subscript, keyboard keys — choose which tools you see • Right-click for a menu that knows where you clicked: tables, links, images, code, headings, tasks and blocks (Shift+right-click keeps the browser menu) • Drag blocks and list items with the ⋮⋮ handle — pick the depth, move several at once, reorder table rows and columns • Find and replace (Ctrl+H), command palette (Ctrl+K), version history, lock to read only • Paste from web pages, Word, Google Docs or Notion and get clean Markdown; templates; an auto-updating [TOC] • Image zoom and resize, collapsible headings, focus mode, presentation mode, read aloud with on-device voices • If another program changes the file while you edit, changes that do not overlap are merged automatically ■ Folders you allow • Ctrl+P quick open, search and replace across the folder, [[ links to other documents, backlinks, broken link check, git branch at a glance ■ Saving that respects your file • Only what you changed is rewritten — fix one word and git diff shows that one line • Auto-save when you pause; if another program changed the file, MarkLeaf shows a comparison instead of overwriting • Every save keeps a local version you can compare and restore • Allow a folder once to save without picking the file again and to browse its .md files in the sidebar ■ Export • PDF (print styles) or a single self-contained HTML file ■ Copy anywhere • Ctrl+C copies with the look you see (headings, tables, code colors) for email, chat and docs; Ctrl+Shift+C copies Markdown ■ Privacy • Your documents never leave your computer. No servers, analytics or tracking • All fonts and libraries are bundled in the extension ■ Getting started To open local files, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" in Chrome's extension details for MarkLeaf. The welcome page that opens after install has a button for it, and the toolbar icon → [Sample] shows every feature first. Good for README files, docs, notes, meeting minutes, changelogs and any local Markdown you keep in git.
