LLM Chat Exporter is a research tool that lets study participants export their AI chat conversations as a JSON file, with full control over what is shared. WHAT IT DOES Open a conversation on ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and click the extension icon. The extension automatically scrolls through the full conversation and captures every message, including long conversations where older messages are no longer loaded on screen. A review page then opens where you can read through the captured messages before anything is saved. REVIEW AND REDACT BEFORE EXPORTING You decide what is included. Click any message to redact it. The text of a redacted message is never written to the exported file. Only a marker remains showing that a message was removed at that position. When you are ready, enter your participant ID and export the conversation as a JSON file, then upload that file to the research survey. YOUR PRIVACY All processing happens locally on your device. The extension does not transmit your conversations anywhere. It has no server, no analytics, and no tracking. The only output is the JSON file saved to your own computer, which you review and submit yourself.
