Worked fine at first, now it asks for permissions to read my browsing history, so now I'm removing it.

Hey, the developer here. I had to add the `tab` permission to ensure compatibility with extension manifest v2 which is still used by Firefox. Unfortunately the permission messaging isn't clear on what it's actually used for. It's still only reading the current tab's URL when you press the copy button and doesn't access any browsing history. I understand being alarmed and would feel the same way.
