Overview

Right-click to copy a full-page screenshot straight to your clipboard — paste it into any AI chat.

ClipShot is a free Chrome extension that copies a full page screenshot straight to your clipboard, with one right-click. Most screenshot tools grab only the visible part of your screen and then hand you a file to download. ClipShot takes the whole page — top to bottom — and puts it straight on your clipboard, ready to paste anywhere. HOW TO TAKE A FULL PAGE SCREENSHOT 1. Right-click anywhere on a web page 2. Choose "Copy full page screenshot" 3. Press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac) wherever you want it That is the entire process. Nothing to download, no editor to close, no extra tab to tidy up. Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+Shift+E for the full page, Ctrl+Shift+Y for the visible area only. Both can be changed in your browser settings. BUILT FOR AI CHATS Showing a web page to an AI assistant normally means capturing the visible part, scrolling, capturing again, saving the files, then uploading them one at a time. ClipShot removes all of that. Right-click, then paste the whole page directly into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity: - "Summarise this page for me" - "What is wrong with this layout?" - "Pull every price out of this page" The same one-step flow works for a bug report in Slack, a design sent to a client on WhatsApp, or a reference saved into Notion, Google Docs or Obsidian. QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK Does it capture the whole page or just what is on screen? The whole page. ClipShot scrolls for you and stitches every screenful into one tall image. Can I paste the screenshot into ChatGPT or Claude? Yes. The image lands on your system clipboard as a PNG, so it pastes into any app that accepts images — AI chats, messengers, documents, email and issue trackers. Do I have to save a file first? No. That is the point of ClipShot. Saving a copy is optional: the first capture asks where to put it, and after that it happens automatically. You can turn saving off entirely in the options. Does it handle long pages and sticky headers? Yes. Floating headers and toolbars are hidden while capturing, so they do not repeat down the finished image. Very tall pages are scaled to stay inside the browser's image limits. Is it free? Yes. No account, no sign-up and no trial period. Everything described on this page is free to use. Does it collect my data? No. There are no analytics, no tracking and no servers. Your images never leave your computer. Why does nothing happen on some pages? Chrome blocks every extension on its own pages — browser settings, the Web Store and the built-in PDF viewer. That restriction applies to all extensions, not only this one. Any ordinary website works. Does it work on Windows, Mac and Linux? Yes, on every desktop version. Keyboard hints adjust to your operating system automatically. WHAT IT DOES FOR YOU - Scrolls and stitches the entire page automatically - Hides floating headers so they do not repeat - Pauses animations so nothing is caught mid-motion - Puts your scroll position back exactly as it was - Scales very tall pages to stay inside the browser's limits - Opens a recovery page with Copy and Download buttons if a site refuses clipboard access - Optionally keeps a copy in your Downloads folder PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN ENGLISH ClipShot cannot read your browsing history and has no standing access to any website. It can only touch a page at the moment you right-click on it — which is why you will never see the "read your data on all websites" warning that most extensions ask for.
