Clippad

Clip text from any page with a colour, tags, and a note. Everything stays on your computer.

Clippad is a notepad on the page. A small button sits in the corner of every page; click it and the notepad opens right there, beside what you are reading. Prefer Chrome's side panel? Choose it in settings. Sites where you do not want the button can be hidden. Select text on any page and pick a colour. The clip is saved with where it came from, and it stays highlighted on the page when you come back. Open the panel to see everything you kept: - This page first: the clips on the page you are looking at. - All clips: everything else, newest first, with the site and path under each one. - Colours with a legend you name yourself (for example "To check", "Agreed", "Problem", "Figure"). - Tags and notes, so "everything about Acme" or "everything for the Q3 close" is one click away. - Search, and filters by colour, tag, site, and date. - Clips that are numbers add up: the panel shows the total per currency, and flags amounts that could be read two ways. - Export as Markdown (with sources) or CSV (ready for a spreadsheet), or copy. - Works in Google Sheets too: select a cell, pick a colour, and the cell's value and address are clipped; clicking the clip later jumps back to that cell. If a page changes and your text is gone, the clip says "Page changed" instead of pointing at the wrong line. Private by design: - Everything stays on your computer. Clippad makes no network connections at all. - No account, no sign-in, no analytics. - Nothing is stored unless you select text and clip it. - One click clears everything; one click forgets a whole site. Made for people who work in the browser all day: finance, operations, admin, research, and anyone who keeps losing the sentence they meant to come back to.
