CORE FEATURES Per-Domain Notes ClipNote automatically associates your notes with the website you're currently viewing. Switch tabs and your notes switch with you. Chrome Sync Zero-setup synchronization using your Chrome Google account. Enable it with a single click in Settings and your data automatically stays in sync across every Chrome installation where you're signed in. No registration, no API keys, no configuration required. Google Drive Sync For larger datasets, connect your Google Drive account for seamless cloud backup and sync. ClipNote uses Chrome's built-in identity system, so authentication is handled natively — just click Connect and approve access. Your data is stored as a single JSON file in your Google Drive. Additional Providers Dropbox and OneDrive sync support is also available for users who prefer those platforms. Each provider stores a single clipnote-sync.json file in your cloud storage. Sync includes all your data: per-domain notes, clipboard history, quick data, global notebooks, and tasks. Conflict detection alerts you when cloud and local data diverge, letting you choose which version to keep. CONTEXT MENU INTEGRATION Right-click any selected text on a webpage and choose "Save to ClipNote" to instantly append it to your active notebook for that domain. The text is saved with a timestamp, and the toolbar icon briefly flashes to confirm the save. No need to open the sidebar — just select, right-click, and save. SMART TOOLBAR ICON The ClipNote toolbar icon is context-aware. It changes appearance based on whether you have notes saved for the current website: - Empty state icon when visiting a site with no saved notes - Active state icon (highlighted) when the current site has notebook content - Brief flash animation after saving content via the context menu This gives you an at-a-glance indicator of which sites have ClipNote data without opening the sidebar. THEMES ClipNote supports both dark and light themes. Toggle between them with a single click in the header. Your theme preference is saved and persists across browser sessions. The dark theme features a carefully crafted color palette optimized for low-light environments, while the light theme provides a clean, bright workspace for daytime use. CUSTOMIZABLE INTERFACE Tailor ClipNote to your workflow through the Settings panel: - Show or hide individual tabs: Clipboard, Quick Data, Tasks, and Global notebooks can each be toggled independently - Show or hide the format toolbar if you prefer a minimal writing experience - All preferences persist across sessions The sidebar automatically adapts when you hide tabs — if your currently active tab becomes hidden, ClipNote switches to the Notes tab automatically.
