ClipNode for Chrome helps you capture moments while watching YouTube—without leaving the video. Open the side panel and tap Add Clip to save the current playback time, add a short note, and build a personal highlight list for each video. You can also click the extension icon on the toolbar while you’re on a YouTube watch page to save a clip the same way. Why install ClipNode Fast capture: One tap in the panel (or a click on the toolbar icon) saves a timestamp at the playhead—no digging through menus. Stay on YouTube: A side panel lists all clips for the video you’re watching. Expand a row to edit the note; use play controls to jump back to that exact moment. Organized by video: Marks are tied to the video you’re on, so highlights stay easy to find when you return later. Optional cloud & web: Connect your account in options to sync clips to the cloud and browse them in the Nodio web app—handy if you use multiple devices or want a full library view. Who it’s for Students, creators, researchers, and anyone who rewatches long videos and wants quick “bookmarks with notes” instead of scrubbing the timeline by hand. Privacy & data The extension needs access to YouTube pages you visit to show the panel and save timestamps. Optional sync uses your configured API endpoints and sign-in; review the extension’s options and permission details before enabling cloud features. Permissions used (why): - youtube.com: show the side panel on YouTube pages so users can save timestamps and notes. - api.clipnode.app: sync user-owned clips and sign-in session for optional cloud sync. - storage: save local clips and sync settings. - notifications: show bind/sync success or failure status. This extension does not request broad wildcard host access and does not use the tabs permission.
