Overview

Local-first web clipper: rewrite clips and save as notes or text

Clipclap helps you keep what matters from the web, in your own words, in a folder you control. Clip a whole page or selected text, optionally rewrite it with AI using your own OpenRouter API key, review the result, then save it as Markdown or plain text. It works with Obsidian, git repos, or any local folder that accepts .md or .txt files. Everything stays local - from your settings and API key to your saved notes. Content only leaves your device when you choose to send it to OpenRouter for rewriting. Use the right-click menu or keyboard shortcuts to clip, rewrite, edit, save, copy, or dismiss. Clipclap is open source and built for people who want a simple web clipper without being locked into another notes platform.
