ClipCite turns any web page into a clean Markdown clip with a ready citation, in one click. Highlight a passage, click the icon, and paste the quote plus a properly formatted citation straight into your paper. ClipCite strips ads and boilerplate, reads the page's citation metadata, and sends everything where you actually write. WHAT YOU GET FREE • One-click clip: extracts the article text with Mozilla Readability, the same engine behind Firefox Reader View • Selection mode: select text on the page and clip exactly that passage instead of the whole article • Automatic citation: reads Highwire, Dublin Core and Open Graph metadata; when the page has a DOI, ClipCite fetches full journal data from Crossref.
