Clio Quick Preview
Overview
Preview documents in Clio without leaving the page — PDF, Word, Excel, images and Outlook emails in a slide-over panel.
Clio Quick Preview adds a preview panel to Clio Manage (EU), so that a document can be read without opening it in a separate page. Click a document in a matter and it opens in a panel over the page. Press Escape, or click outside the panel, to close it. Modifier-clicks and Clio's own pop-out control behave exactly as they do without the extension, so nothing you already do stops working. The panel renders the kinds of files a case file holds: documents, spreadsheets, scanned images, photographs and saved Outlook emails. Where a file cannot be displayed in the browser, the panel offers to download it or open it in Clio's own viewer instead, so nothing becomes unreachable. Emails open with their headers and message, and the files attached to them can be read in the same panel. Click an attachment to view it, or use the arrow beside it to save it. An email attached to another email opens in turn, so a forwarded chain can be followed and then stepped back out of. The arrow keys move to the previous or next document in the list, which makes reading through a bundle considerably quicker than opening each one in turn. The extension runs only on eu.app.clio.com. It reads documents through the session you are already signed in with, using Clio's own endpoints. It is read-only, it writes nothing back to Clio, and no document content or usage data is sent anywhere — everything is rendered locally in the browser. Built for internal use at Alam Law Ltd.
