ClickShield — Ad & Popup Blocker
Overview
Blocks ads, trackers, and the pop-up/pop-under tabs that hijack your clicks. Built on EasyList and EasyPrivacy.
Tired of sites where clicking ANYTHING opens a new tab full of ads? ClickShield was built around exactly that problem. WHAT IT BLOCKS • Ads and trackers on every site — powered by the EasyList and EasyPrivacy filter lists, compiled to Chrome's fast built-in blocking engine • Pop-ups and pop-unders — three layers of defense: Click-hijack guard: pages only get one window per real click, and known ad networks get none Pop-up tab killer: tabs opened to ad domains (or killed by the filter rules) close themselves instantly Network-level blocking of pop-under ad networks • Empty ad boxes — 30,000 cosmetic rules hide leftover placeholders WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Built for click-hijacking sites (manga readers, streaming aggregators, file hosts) where other blockers leave dead tabs behind • Blocked pop-up counter and a log of what was stopped, per tab • Allow ads on sites you trust with one click • Add your own blocked domains in Settings • Zero data collection: no analytics, no servers, no remote code — everything runs locally (see privacy policy) LIMITS, HONESTLY Chrome's Manifest V3 platform doesn't allow every advanced filter type, so a small fraction of EasyList (script-injection rules) can't be applied. Sites with aggressive anti-adblock (e.g. YouTube) are not the target of this extension.
