Overview

Extract tables from PDF files into Google Sheets or Excel. Runs fully offline in your browser — no upload, no data collected.

Drop a PDF and get a real table back — with columns that actually line up, not one giant blob of text. ClearPDF reads a PDF's embedded text and its coordinates, reconstructs the table structure, and lets you export it — no OCR needed for a text-based PDF, no upload, no account. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the ClearPDF icon — it opens a dedicated tab, not a popup 2. Drop a PDF file (or choose one) — nothing ever leaves your browser 3. ClearPDF auto-detects the columns on the current page and previews the table (switch pages first from the dropdown if your PDF has more than one) 4. Nudge a column divider if a line is off, then copy or export WHY CLEARPDF - Free and offline: parsing runs entirely in your browser using pdf.js — the file is never uploaded anywhere - Adjustable column detection: drag a divider to fix it, double-click to remove one, or add one where the auto-detection missed a column - Excel-friendly CSV: RFC 4180 escaping with UTF-8 BOM, so $ amounts and accented text open correctly in Excel - Markdown export: paste tables straight into docs, wikis, or GitHub issues - Zero permissions: ClearPDF doesn't request activeTab, scripting, or any host access — the whole tool works as a self-contained tab - Fails safely: corrupted or password-protected PDFs show a clear message instead of crashing EXPORT FORMATS - Copy for Sheets / Excel — tab-separated text on your clipboard; just paste - Download CSV — UTF-8 with BOM - Copy as Markdown — GitHub-style pipe table HONEST LIMITS - Scanned or image-only PDFs (no embedded text) are not supported in v1.0 — ClearPDF tells you clearly instead of guessing - Column detection is based on text position, not visual borders — tables with merged cells may not be perfectly reconstructed Built for analysts, researchers, consultants, and accountants who need to pull a table out of a financial report, government statistics PDF, or invoice — without retyping numbers by hand. ClearPDF v1.0 is completely free.
