Clean Image removes hidden metadata from images before you share them, in one right-click. Photos and generated images often carry more than pixels: GPS location, camera and device details, editing history, the app that created the file, timestamps and signed Content Credentials (C2PA). Clean Image strips all of it and saves a clean copy, right inside your browser. HOW TO USE • Right-click any image on a web page and choose "Download clean image". A cleaned copy is saved to your Downloads folder. • Or click the toolbar icon, then drag & drop images (or choose files) to clean several at once. WHAT IT REMOVES • C2PA / Content Credentials manifests (creator app, actions, signatures, timestamps) • EXIF (camera, device, GPS location, capture date) • XMP (editing software and history) • IPTC / Photoshop metadata (captions, keywords, credits) • Text comments and any data appended after the end of the image WHAT IT KEEPS • Every pixel, byte for byte. Nothing is re-encoded, so there is zero quality loss. • Color profiles (ICC), transparency and animation, so images look exactly the same. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything runs locally in your browser. Images are never uploaded. • No account, no analytics, no tracking, no remote code. • The extension only touches a page when you choose "Download clean image" on it. SUPPORTED FORMATS PNG (including animated PNG), JPEG and WebP. GOOD TO KNOW • Clean Image removes metadata only. It does not change pixels, so watermarks embedded in the image itself are not affected. • Some sites block re-downloading their images. When that happens, Clean Image opens its drag & drop page: save the image, then drop it there. • Please follow the rules of the platforms you publish to, including any requirement to label AI-generated or edited content.
