Clean Copy turns the email message or AI-generated answer under your pointer into a clean, email-ready clipboard payload. How it works: - Point at the content and press `Alt+Shift+C` for immediate clean copy. - Or click the extension icon, point at the content, and click to select it. - Paste into an email composer, document, notes app, or plain-text field. - Or select content, right-click, and choose **Clean Copy selection**. Choose **Copy selection as plain text** when you deliberately want no formatting. You can also right-click inside a useful block and choose **Clean Copy this block**. Clean Copy preserves useful structure where available: - paragraphs and headings; - bold and italic text; - bullet, numbered, and nested lists; - safe links; - tables, code blocks, and blockquotes. For email messages, Clean Copy can remove signatures, reply history, forwarded-message history, disclaimers, and nearby interface controls. For AI-generated content, it keeps the authored answer without copying prompts, reaction controls, or surrounding conversation turns. The content picker is DOM-agnostic. The extension does not contain provider-specific selectors or require access to specific websites. Privacy by design: - processing happens locally in the active browser tab; - content is handled only after an explicit toolbar, keyboard, or right-click action; - no accounts, analytics, backend, advertising, or remote code; - no browsing history or copied content is stored or transmitted; - only `activeTab`, `scripting`, and `contextMenus` permissions are requested; `contextMenus` is used solely for the Clean Copy right-click actions. Version 1.4.0 adds right-click Clean Copy, an explicit plain-text action, clearer copy confirmations, and lightweight onboarding for new installs. The established `Alt+Shift+C`, email/AI cleanup, rich formatting, and table-copy workflows remain intact.
