Edit collapsed “PASTED” blocks in Claude in place — fix a line without deleting and re-pasting the whole block.

Pasting a large chunk of text into Claude collapses it into a “PASTED — N lines” attachment that you can’t edit. To fix a single line, you have to delete the whole block and paste a corrected version from scratch. This is the pain reported in github issues — and it isn’t fixed natively. Claude Pasted-Block Editor adds an Edit button to the collapsed block. Click it, fix your text in a clean editor, and save — the corrected text goes right back into the message, so what you send is exactly what you meant. HOW IT WORKS 1. Paste a large block into Claude as usual — it collapses into a “PASTED” attachment. 2. A small pencil icon appears on the block. Click it. 3. Edit the text in the editor (line counter included). Press Ctrl+Enter to save or Esc to cancel. 4. The block is rebuilt with your corrected text — ready to send. PRIVACY-FIRST, BY DESIGN • Only two permissions: local storage and access to claude.ai. Nothing else. • No backend, no servers, no accounts, no tracking, no analytics. • Your text never leaves your browser. The original paste is held locally only so you can edit it. SCOPE (v1) This version edits blocks you paste in the current session — the kind of in-the-moment fix the original bug report is about.
