Claim Trace lets you highlight a sentence on any webpage — a headline, a statistic, a quote — and instantly get an honest, structured breakdown: - What type of claim it is — statistic, quote, prediction, opinion, or event - How checkable it actually is — some claims can be verified, others can't - A plain confidence read — well-established, plausible but unverified, contested, or likely misleading - Why — a short explanation of what would need to be true - Ready-made search links — so you can verify it yourself in one click No blocking, no "true/false" verdicts, no black-box scoring. Claim Trace shows you what it thinks and why, and lets you draw your own conclusions. How it works Claim Trace uses Claude, Anthropic's AI model, to analyze the text you highlight. You'll need your own free Anthropic API key (get one at console.anthropic.com) — this keeps the extension free to use and means your data goes directly from your browser to Anthropic, nowhere else. Typical cost is well under a cent per claim checked. Privacy Claim Trace has no server and collects nothing. Your API key stays in your browser.
