CkretGuard checks your text for possible credentials before you send a prompt to a supported AI chat. Scanning runs locally on your device. REVIEW BEFORE SENDING When CkretGuard finds possible secrets, it shows the detected values and gives you three choices: • Send: send the original prompt without masking. • Edit: return to the draft without sending. • Mask: replace detected values with xxxxxxxxxx and send the masked prompt. Prefer stronger protection? Choose “Edit or Mask” in Protection settings to remove the unmasked Send option. CUSTOM SECRET FIELDS Add up to 50 field names, such as dataset_key, to protect values specific to your work. CkretGuard also checks recognized credential formats, labeled values, and secret-like values in prompts containing relevant field names. Client-ID checking can be enabled or disabled. LOCAL ACTIVITY AND HISTORY See Detected, Masked Sent, and Unmasked Sent totals. When you choose Send with detected secrets left unmasked and the website send control is activated, the complete original prompt is saved in History on this device for up to 90 days. History includes the secrets and is not encrypted by CkretGuard. Delete entries after rotating exposed credentials. Entries record send attempts; delivery is not confirmed. Masked prompts and ordinary messages are not saved in History. YOUR DATA CkretGuard does not upload your prompts to Orenthic or a remote scanner. Settings, custom field names, activity totals, and History stay in this browser. Production builds contain no debug prompt logger or remote analytics. KNOW THE LIMITS Detection can miss secrets or flag non-sensitive text. CkretGuard does not verify whether credentials are valid. It covers recognized text inputs and send controls; files, images, voice, native apps, and existing chat conversations are outside scanning coverage. Websites can read text entered into their pages before you send it. Review your text and follow your organization’s security rules. CkretGuard is an independent product by Orenthic.
