This release is compatible with ChromeOS version 147. What’s new in 2603 This release addresses areas that improve overall performance and stability. It contains changes to improve responsiveness of the session during high server load. - Keyboard input mode refinement: Starting with version 2603, the Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS introduces a refined user interface for selecting keyboard input modes, replacing the deprecated scancode configuration option. This enhancement allows users to modify keyboard settings during an active session with immediate effect. - Audio quality improvement with reliable transport protocols: Starting with version 2603, Citrix Workspace app for Chrome OS delivers enhanced audio redirection that creates a smoother and more consistent audio playback and recording experience. The application improves audio quality, particularly when you use reliable transport protocols such as TCP and EDT Reliable. - AOT log content enhancement: Starting from CWA 2603, the Citrix Workspace ChromeOS now supports AOT logs upload to log server for the On Prem gateway path. - Service Continuity for Connectorless Workloads: Starting with version 2603, the Citrix Workspace app (CWA) for ChromeOS now supports Service Continuity for connectorless workloads running on compatible VDAs. With this enhancement, Service Continuity is no longer limited to deployments that rely on cloud connectors. Instead, ChromeOS endpoints can now participate in connectorless infrastructure designs while still benefiting from resilient apps and desktop launches during transient Citrix Workspace or Citrix Gateway service outages. - Loss tolerant mode for graphics: Starting with 2603, this feature enables Citrix Workspace™ app for ChromeOS to use the loss tolerant mode for graphics in Citrix sessions, improving the video experience, particularly in poor network conditions. This feature is disabled by default. - Enhanced EDT lossy connection support with Secure HDX: Strating 2603, Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS now includes enhanced logic for EDT (Enlightened Data Transport) lossy connections in direct communication scenarios between the client and the Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA). Previously, enabling EDT lossy for audio required DTLS. - Enhanced in-session reconnection experience [Technical Preview]: Starting with version 2603, this feature enhances the end-user experience during session timeouts caused by inactivity or network interruptions. Users are presented with clear, contextual messages such as Device went to sleep or Network disruption to explain why a session ended. The solution provides users with an option to reconnect directly from the timeout screen for desktop sessions. This feature is disabled by default. - Fixed issues - On pressing right meta + L shortcut to trigger screen lock in CWA Chrome OS session, the right meta key might remain stuck inside session which subsequently impacts all following keyboard inputs. [CVADHELP-30980] - When using PowerMic-3 with Dragon Medical One software inside CWA Chrome OS session with ChromeOS M136 or higher, recording functionality might fail intermittently. [CVADHELP-31808] - When launching published applications from the ChromeOS Citrix Workspace App 2507, users may see one or more black boxes during startup, and in some cases the session may fail to become interactive as expected. [CVADHELP-31158] - Zebra barcode scanners might not work properly as the commands embedded in the barcodes are being omitted after a CWA Chrome OS update to 2511. [CVADHELP-32042] - When running on Chrome OS version 146 or later, custom virtual channels built with earlier Citrix Virtual Channel SDK versions may not function as expected when used with a Manifest V3 Chrome extension. This behavior is caused by compatibility issues between Manifest V3 and Chrome extension API behavior. Workaround: Update your implementation to use the latest Citrix Virtual Channel SDK (2603) and republish your Chrome extension built on this SDK version. - Known issues - There are no new known issues in this release. Recommendations and Notes: • Starting with the version 2202 (22.2.1.8), only valid JSON is honored for pushing the configuration to Citrix Workspace app for Chrome OS. Do the following: • Verify the configuration JSON using https://jsonlint.com/.
