Open an article, a book page, a video or a PDF and get a citation you can paste straight into your paper. CITATIONS THAT FOLLOW THE RULES Citepad builds every citation with citeproc-js, the open-source engine behind Zotero, using the official Citation Style Language definitions. The small rules are what usually go wrong, and this is where they come out right: how many authors are listed before the rest are abbreviated, what happens when a source has no date, how an organisation is written as an author, how a title is capitalised. Pick your style once and the whole bibliography follows it. IT READS THE PAGE FOR YOU Author, publication date, journal details and identifiers are taken from the page's own metadata, so most citations need no typing at all. Video pages, encyclopedia entries, book previews and PDF files each get their own reader. Anything Citepad had to guess is marked on screen, so you know what to check before you hand the work in. COPY KEEPS THE FORMATTING Copy puts rich text and plain text on the clipboard at the same time. Paste into your word processor and the italics and the hanging indent survive. The in-text citation has its own button, so you can drop it into a sentence without opening anything else. ONE BIBLIOGRAPHY PER PAPER Keep a project for each assignment. Save sources as you read, then copy the finished reference list, sorted and formatted. Your library moves in and out of the file formats reference managers use, so nothing is locked in.
